You acknowledge that you do not own the copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights to any materials on our website or provided through our services. Any rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.
Students are permitted to take personal notes during tutoring sessions for their own study purposes, but may not reproduce, distribute, or resell tutoring materials or lesson plans without written permission.
11. Tutoring Services Terms
11.1 Service Description
MAS offers one-on-one personalized tutoring in mathematics and computer science for students in grades 1–12. Services include diagnostic assessments, lesson planning, instruction, and progress tracking. The specific services and frequency are determined by mutual agreement between you and our tutors.
11.2 Consultation and Agreement
All tutoring services begin with a free 15-minute consultation to assess needs, discuss goals, and establish a working relationship. During this consultation, we will discuss:
- Your academic goals and needs
- Scheduling and availability
- Pricing and payment terms
- Lesson format and delivery method
- Communication and progress reporting
11.3 Pricing and Payment
Our standard rate is $19/hour for one-on-one tutoring sessions. Payment terms, methods, and any discounts for bulk bookings will be discussed and confirmed during your consultation. Invoices and payment requests will be provided as agreed.
Payment is due according to the terms agreed upon (typically within 7–14 days of invoice). Late payments may result in suspension of services.
11.4 Cancellation and Rescheduling
We require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling of sessions. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged at our standard hourly rate unless we can reschedule the session with another student.
If a tutor must cancel, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule at no charge. If rescheduling is not possible, a full refund or credit toward future sessions will be provided.
11.5 Session Format and Location
Tutoring sessions can be conducted in person or remotely via video call, as mutually agreed. The specific format, location, and platform will be determined during the consultation. Both parties are responsible for ensuring a distraction-free, appropriate environment for learning.
11.6 Student Responsibilities
For tutoring services to be effective, the student agrees to:
- Attend sessions on time and for the full duration
- Come prepared with necessary materials (textbooks, homework, notes)
- Engage actively in the learning process
- Practice concepts between sessions as recommended
- Communicate concerns or difficulties to the tutor
MAS is not responsible for lack of academic progress if the student does not follow these guidelines or does not practice between sessions.
11.7 No Guarantee of Results
While our tutors are experienced and employ evidence-based teaching methods, we do not guarantee specific academic results, grade improvements, test score increases, or admission outcomes. Academic success depends on many factors including student effort, prior knowledge, school instruction, and external circumstances beyond our control.
Tutoring is a service to support learning; it is not a substitute for school instruction or student responsibility for their own learning.
11.8 Satisfaction Guarantee
We are committed to providing quality tutoring. If you are not satisfied with your first session, please let us know within 24 hours, and we will work to address your concerns. This may include a different tutor assignment, adjusted lesson approach, or a full refund of that session's fees.
11.9 Communication with Students Under 18
For students under 18, we will maintain regular communication with parents or guardians regarding progress, attendance, and any concerns. We may use email, phone, or other agreed-upon communication methods to provide updates.
12. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities
By using our website and services, you agree that you will not:

- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or data

- Record or transcribe tutoring sessions without prior written consent from all parties
- Interfere with the normal operation of our website or services
Violation of these terms may result in immediate termination of services and may affect your ability to use our services in the future.
13. Recording and Confidentiality
Tutoring sessions are confidential and private communications between the tutor and student. Students are prohibited from recording tutoring sessions (video or audio) without the prior written consent of the tutor.
Tutors will not record sessions without your consent, except as required for quality assurance or legal compliance purposes (in which case you will be notified).
Tutors maintain student information in confidence and will not share details about student performance, behavior, or personal information with third parties without parental consent (for minors) or student consent (for adults), except as required by law.
